Wai`anae Neighborhood Place
The Vision: Let the Wai`anae Coast be a place where all keiki are
assured of happy and hopeful lives by their caregivers. Empowering caring, safe
and healthy foundation for every family. Where we, ho`ohiki (keep the promise),
to our keiki that they are the future.
The Mission: Let Ka Wahi Kaiaulu-Wai`anae Neighborhood Place be a
place for `ohana to work together and acknowledge the unique cultures, values,
contributions and strengths of everyone. Building a nurturing, stable and
courageous community for all keiki to safely live the best lives
possible-culturally, spiritually, academically and economically.
Who we are...
We are a newly funded initiative, of Blueprint for Change, to
promote a safe and nurturing environment for children and their families. We
also acknowledge the support of the State of Hawai`i and the Victoria S. and
Bradley L. Geist Foundation.
To whom and what we provide...
Residents of the Wai`anae Coast with youth up to 17 years of age;
who may be in a potentially unsafe or risky circumstance and/or environment; who
does not need or is not currently involved with the Child Protection Services,
whose needs are less severe; and self or community referrals are also welcomed.
Ka Wahi Kaiaulu-Wai`anae Neighborhood Place is here to ensuring the well-being of Wai`anae's children and families by
awareness activities and educational workshops, while enlisting the Wai`anae
Coast's commitment and responsibilities to our community.
Our Services...
Services are individualized, family focused, non-judgmental, supportive,
understanding, culturally sensitive, voluntary, free, and confidential.
Ka Wahi Kaiaulu- Wai`anae Neighborhood Place provides culturally
appropriate, community-based, goal-oriented and individualized support through
assessment, planning, linkage, advocacy, coordination and monitoring, assisting
families in obtaining/maintaining basic needs. We provide support in assisting participants
to develop formal and informal resources (e.g. financial entitlements and
management, housing needs, daily living skills, early childhood program
opportunities, mental health services, residential programs, substance abuse
programs, domestic violence services and vocational services).
When we are open...
Services are provided Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 4:30pm, on-site at
85-979 Mill Street or within the community, at family homes, and/or other areas
accessible and convenient to families. Our offices are located within the
community near the bus line for easy access. We are in a single
story building with a single story duplex to the rear of the property. We can be
